Our brand new arts & faith retreat will be small, slow and beautiful!

Creative community is pretty much my favourite thing. Watching the sparks as artists bounce ideas off of one another across disciplines is invigorating. Seeing artists care for each other, offering a listening ear, wisdom and encouragement, reminds me that there is plenty of hope left in our world.

Join a small group of creatives in the shadow of the Canadian Rockies this summer for a creative sanctuary nestled along Calgary's elbow river. We'll keep it small, take it slow and make it beautiful.

This will be a special time to grow your art and nurture your soul, with times for spiritual community and reflection as well as guided artistic tracks.

With visual art and writing, you can choose your beautiful.

Tania Runyan, a published poet, essayist and author of How to Write a Poem, will guide our poetry workshop. Daniel vanHeyst, Director of Visual Arts and Theatre at King's University, will lead a workshop on Macro Painting and Drawing. You can learn more about those sessions and instructors on the event website, which is now live.

Your long weekend starts Thursday, June 29 and winds down Sunday, July 2. Accommodations and food are included for the low early bird price of $550 CDN (until all spots are filled or the rate goes up on March 1)

Each track has space for just 12 people, which is how we keep it small. There will be plenty of free time to create your work, enjoy the river valley or take a stroll with some new friends in one of Calgary's funkiest urban districts, the Beltline. That's how we take it slow. You'll walk away with new friendships and new work. That's how we make it beautiful.

I hope you'll join me and an inspiring group of creatives this summer.
